Topical Webinars for All Data Administrators

See Communications page for webinar dates and agendas.

Technical Assistance Webinars

Open
Typically 45-minute webinars for data administrators to bring any questions about data manuals or annual reports to the table for discussion and / or resolution.

Targeted
Typically 90-minute webinars w/an agenda, often focused on a specific topic, e.g. a new data collection or the annual reporting cycle.

Individual Program Assistance

Upon request, PESB staff will work with program data administrators to identify program-specific technical assistance needs and responses, which may include:

    • resourcing a visit to another program
    • bringing expertise on-site
Per the request of Data Administrators at the DA TA Conference in February 2015, all programs have been invited to meet w/PESB staff to review w/program leadership and IT staff the data system review tool, especially to provide feedback as to the indicators for the components. Are those indicators inclusive of what data system administrators would respond to in determining whether a data system component was amiss? Are there components of an effective / robust data system that are missing?
This invitation remains open to those whose schedule prevented a May - June visit.
If additional follow up / questions remain following these visits, PESB staff will be available to assist.

Data System Interviews

Six (6) program deans and / or data administrators offered up their advice in planning, developing, and / or extending their data systems to deliver program data reports in support of continuous improvement and reporting efforts. A summary synopsis of those discussions was presented at the September 2014 PESB meeting.

Web-based Resources

The Annual Data Collections and Reports shows links to many resources, which are updated as needed to meet data administrator needs, process timelines, etc. Some of these resources are directly related to the data collection and reporting process, but also include system developer information, other data resources, and various visualizations of submitted data.

Data Manual? Report? What's the difference?

Reports submitted by PESB approved WA educator preparation programs are the result of a step two (2) of a two-step process:

    1. First, the data is collected by programs.
    2. Then, the data is reported to PESB.

This process occurs annually, for example:

Data Manuals 2013-2014 ----> 2014 Report Guidance

Data Manuals 2014-2015  ----> 2015 Report Guidance

Data Manuals 2015-2016  ----> 2016 Report Guidance

Primary documentation to supports these steps include:

1) Data Manuals

        • a prospective document
        • guides the collection of candidate level data during a specified academic year

2) Report Guidance

        • a retrospective document
        • program level data aggregated from the Data Manuals used to guide the previous academic year’s candidate level data collections
